Lakeside Lodge at Entabeni Safari Conservancy, unfortunately recently experienced some damages after a fire started in one of the rooms . The fire was contained very quickly by the team on site and no guests or staff members were harmed.
Fortunately only two rooms burnt down and two adjacent rooms had some water damages as a result of the extinguishing process. The rest of Lakeside Lodge is still intact and fully operational. At the time of the fire there were no guests staying in the specific rooms. The damaged rooms have since been blocked off very neatly and will not affect the guest experience at Lakeside Lodge at all.
The guests staying at Lakeside during the morning of the fire were timeously evacuated and moved to alternative rooms for the remainder of their stay. The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed; however, plans to re build these rooms have been set out and are estimated to have the new rooms available and operational by the end of the year.
The rebuild will coincide with the current renovation project upgrading certain lodges at Entabeni. A project which is still in process and almost completed.
