They are expanding with an exclusive new Island Suite and alternative dining area!
They are continuously improving and updating their amenities at Victoria Falls River Lodge. Each building, room and even their own private preschool for the local children has been meticulously built and designed to not only fit into the incredible natural surroundings of the Victoria Falls area, but to also be functional and aesthetically pleasing to those making use of these facilities.
The 6th – and final – addition to the Island Treehouse Suites on Kandahar Island will host its first guests in mid-April, said Victoria Falls River Lodge General Manager Roddy Meiring. “It is going to be the ultimate Suite on the Island. Set upon the River’s edge, facing downstream towards the Victoria Falls, the new room will also have a Starbed upstairs. As the rooftop area is almost three storeys high, guests will enjoy 360 views,” said Meiring.
This will bring the total room count on Kandahar Island to six. No more rooms will be added ensuring the island stays private, secluded and exclusive.
Island Treehouse Suites Manager Peter Dunning said if all six rooms are occupied, a maximum of 12 guests will stay on the Island at any given time.
Apart from the South-facing Starbed Treehouse 6 – with its view of the Zambezi as it turns towards The Falls – there is also some building going on back on the mainland at Victoria Falls River Lodge’s Luxury Tented Suites’ entertainment area. A brand-new dining area is being built to provide a novel alternative and/or private dining space for Victoria Falls River Lodge guests. Construction is also expected to be completed by mid-April.
