Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge will re-open on 01 June 2018 following a complete rebuild of the lodge that will boast a redesign of the public areas as well as the guest accommodation. The rebuild is being guided by the best sustainable building practices and an exemplary eco-friendly lodge will be created. The new lodge will boast a luxurious spa, a wildlife-viewing hide where animals come to slake their thirst and a fire-pit with a view over the now famous Channel. Savute is a bird lovers haven with over 250 bird species, and most native to this area. Offering two safari drives per day in different areas of the Savute area renowned for its Big Cat encounters, as well as rare species of mammals such as roan and sable antelope.
